Introduction
Let’s get straight to it. We built these infrared heating emitters to be the perfect one-and-done swap for your old halogen lamps. These are rugged, no-nonsense units made for the factory floor. They pack a serious punch in a small package. They’re your best bet when you just need to replace a worn-out halogen heater tube without the headache of redesigning the whole machine.
The Nitty-Gritty: Power, Voltage, and Fit
Here’s the beauty of it: these emitters are made to slide right into the same spot your old halogen tube used to occupy. The dimensions are spot on. We’re talking a standard 300mm length, which matches up with most of the older assemblies out there. And the power? It’s serious. A 2500W rating is typical for this size, so you get a lot of heat from a compact unit. Voltage is a big deal with these. A lot of them run on 400V. Why does that matter? Well, that higher voltage lets us deliver all that wattage while drawing less current. Less current means you can use thinner, cheaper wiring and you won’t get that annoying voltage drop over long runs. The catch is that your control gear and insulation need to be rated for the higher voltage, so your machine’s electrical setup has to be compatible.
What’s Inside: The Build Details
At the heart of it all is a quartz halogen tube. We chose it because it can handle the shock of heating up fast and cooling down fast, and it’s built for extreme heat. The halogen cycle inside keeps the filament clean, which means it lasts way longer than a regular incandescent bulb. We’ve also added a special reflective coating on the outside. It does a great job of focusing the infrared energy forward, so you’re not wasting heat backwards or to the sides. And the connector? It’s got to be right for a true drop-in replacement. We use the standard R7s base for linear tubes. It gives you a secure, two-point contact that’s built for high current. The connection stays solid, even with all the vibration and the expansion and contraction from the heat.
Why It Works: The Payoff
These emitters are made to take over for halogen lamps in jobs like heating, curing, and drying. The biggest win? It’s a straight swap. No need to re-engineer your mounting brackets or the reflector housing. The heat is a concentrated far-infrared radiation, which means it heats the target directly, not the air around it. That gives you faster heat-up times and wastes less energy. The intense heat density is perfect for spot heating or focused processes. But here’s the thing—that kind of intensity needs proper management. The equipment around it has to be built to handle the radiated heat. Otherwise, you risk overheating nearby components and wiring.
